1. How did the ESU do in supporting your school improvement goals/district initiatives this past year?
Initiatives:
C4L
School Improvement (curriculum, technology)
Behavior Issues K-12/Motivational
Assessment of Support:
Principal meetings have been implemented
C4L should be doing it more than once a year, how it all works
Elementary will probably not use C4L, have a good idea of what they do and don’t know, don’t have time for another test
Behavior specialist that could coach us, create behavior plans, do observation, check on plan follow-through
Always need training for teachers in behavior management and would like for everybody to be able to go
Liked the cognitive behavior therapy workshop at ESU 13
School Improvement- Jeff is great, anything they ask for, he does. Extremely helpful in getting any information he is asked for.
Technology- really liked the last time Mary and Patty came and they had 1 on 1 time for help
2. What are your current school improvement goals/initiatives?
Are still in the same goals as last year.
3. How can the ESU assist you in addressing these goals/initiatives?
Would like a refresher of Write Tools, maybe at a different level. Maybe some narrative writing training rather than expository. They really like Write Tools. Maybe having a separate primary training.
ESU has been instrumental in getting them into the consortium for the NNNC Writing workshop. Would like to do that again.
Jeff has helped them get on the Wiki site with all of the data.
4. How can the ESU support the needs of your teachers? Consider academic, social/emotional, physical, innovative practices, professional development.
Writing training
Liked the PBS all school programs
5. How can the ESU support the needs of your students? Consider academic, social/emotional, physical, innovative practices, professional development.
Continue to have Ainsworth West Campus Location
Preschool services are important
6. How can the ESU support the needs of your administrators? Consider academic, social/emotional, physical, innovative practices, professional development.
Principal meetings were nice when they were able to be held
Technology helps for having meetings
Jeff is going to help with teacher evaluation
7. How can ESU #17 improve communication?
Have someone answer the phone at the training center
Newsletter is good, hard to get people to look at it sometimes
Promote the use of the bridge
8. What are the Top 2 Ways ESU #17 can support your district next year?
Continue with technology support
Keep offering what you are offering, SPED, Jeff’s Support

1. How did the ESU do in supporting your school improvement goals/district initiatives this past year?
entrepreneurship, problem-solving, critical thinking, helping students to be 21st century citizens, rigor/relevance, college-readiness (training from the outside
Assessment of Support:
iPad and sped training, trainers came to school, made appointments, some staff felt it was helpful, others felt they didn't learn new things. It's nice to have staff on-site to put a face with the person. Some ipads linked to face-time on school account, that is maybe not what they would have preferred. Planning by staff, ESU staff came with what was expected, did what was asked. ESU has provided opportunities. They are using ipads much more than a year ago.
Would like to use technology and provide training to support staff
Staff feels like they have sought out training in other areas on their own rather than getting it from the ESU. Entrepreneurship has been supported through Perkins very well. Has provided technology for career and tech ed. Staff has awareness of some opportunities. If ESU could provide workshop in entrepreneurship maybe provide access for community and students.
2. What are your current school improvement goals/initiatives?
Just had visitation and have not talked about goals. Haven't moved to the new focus as far as goals. Need a jump start on the next process. Still adjusting to new leadership and setting goals.
Trying to make things financially feasible.
3. How can the ESU assist you in addressing these goals/initiatives?
Provide assistance in focusing on school improvement goals. It's sometimes nice to have an outside person. It generates more ideas through brainstorming sessions.
School has generated ideas through brainstorming in the past (ex. store, reading during study hall) With no study halls next year, will be interesting to see how this affects reading.
1 to 1 ipads may not be available next years
4. How can the ESU support the needs of your teachers? Consider academic, social/emotional, physical, innovative practices, professional development.
Would like to use DL to provide training so that teachers don't have to spend time on the road
Meetings by department (or grade level) ESU-wide. Include an agenda so that they stay on track.
Would like to visit other classrooms with the same subject-area or grade (classrooms in action)
Would like to have more training in iPads at elementary
5. How can the ESU support the needs of your students? Consider academic, social/emotional, physical, innovative practices, professional development.
Like PRT for SPED workshops behavior, social emotional
Have worked on behavior even for older students and they have resources available from past workshops to address behavior
Would like workshops for students (tech, social emotional, laundry, cooking)
Possibly provide a technology conference for students, ESU personnel to teach, provide support
Students need to develop more of a world view, acceptance of different cultures
6. How can the ESU support the needs of your administrators? Consider academic, social/emotional, physical, innovative practices, professional development.
Limit time on the road
7. How can ESU #17 improve communication?
Would like to have a list serve available to contact other teachers within the ESU (ex. counselors)
Like the newsletter and emails that are sent
Jeff responds in a timely manner to emails
They don't want to be forgotten, feel like they are at the end of the line
Sometimes don't know what resources are. Some teachers know enough staff to make connection, but not everyone does.
8. What are the Top 2 Ways ESU #17 can support your district next year?
Reduce travel through the use of distance learning, are concerned about infrastructure to support DL
Continue to provide workshops in the summer as well as during the school year
